2008 World Series of Poker Main Event Starts Tomorrow
Tomorrow, July 3, marks the start of the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. The $10,000 buy-in World Championship No-Limit Hold’em tournament is event 54 and players will be scheduled to start on July 3, 4, 5 and 6th. Those that make it past the first day will come back on July 8 to play in day two of the event.
As mentioned previously here at PokerMom, the 2008 WSOP Main Event Final Table will not be played until November. Those that make the final table will likely spend the four month break watching video of their opponents, reading recaps on websites like SharkScope and of course honing their craft to perfection.
The big question is “Will this be the year of the pro?” Amateurs have been coming out on top of the Main Event in recent years due to their sheer numbers. Will a pro outlast the masses to come out on top? I know that personally I’d love to see a poker pro walk home with the 2008 WSOP Championship this year.
