Negreanu Wins Pot Limit Hold’Em 2008 WSOP Event 20

Daniel Negreanu, another one of my favorite poker players, has won Event #20 at the 2008 WSOP.  The $2,000 buy-in Limit Hold’Em event featured 479 entrants and a top prize of $204,434.  Negreanu now holds four WSOP bracelets.  Negreanu’s third bracelet came in the same event in the 2004 WSOP.

The live updates from the WSOP reported “Me-1, Ivey-0!” cried Negreanu as he hoisted his new piece of jewelry in the air. The two poker legends have a standing bet during this year’s WSOP in which one pays the other $200,000 for each bracelet won. That will effectively double Negreanu’s prize money from this victory.”

Negreanu is regarding as one of the best readers at the poker table and is known for calling out an opponent’s hand in televised play.  This was Negreanu’s third cash of the 2008 WSOP previously placing 11th and 22nd in other events.
