Big congratulations go to Mike “The Mouth” Matusow on winning his third WSOP bracelet.  Matusow was the last man standing at the $5,000 buy-in No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball w/Rebuys WSOP Event #18.  According to the live updates from the WSOP website,

“Matusow was clearly overwhelmed with emotion, though not quite to the point of tears.”I don’t know much about this game,” joked Matusow, “but I know no-limit. If I continue to play like I played this week, it’s gonna be a real good World Series.”

Matusow is truly one of my favorite poker players and I was excited to see that he made the final table yesterday.  When I checked for the updates I was elated to see that he’d won the event.  The final hand was against noted poker pro Jeff Lisandro.  Matusow went all-in on the button and Lisandro called.  Lisandro stated he wanted to draw a card and Matusow agonized over his decision; ultimately he decided that his hand was good with Q-8-7-4-3.  Lisandro held 9-6-5-3-x and drew a Q.  Matusow’s Q-8 was better than Lisandro’s Q-9 and Matusow walked with his third bracelet as well as a $347,004 cash prize.
