Nenad Medic Wins Pot-Limit Hold’em Event 1 at 2008 WSOP
With play running late, Nenad Medic managed to overcome Andy Bloch’s huge chip lead and win the $10,000 pot-limit Hold’em event #1 at the 2008 WSOP. Medic takes home the first place prize of $794,112. Bloch ended up in second with $488,048. Kathy Liebert managed her short stack well evidently as she squeaked just ahead of Mike Sexton to win third place netting $306,064. Mike Sexton took fourth winning $248,160 which is about 1/3 of his previous total WSOP winnings.
Medic, who was born in Serbia but currently lives in Niagara Falls, Ontario, has cashed three times in previous WSOP tournaments but this was his first bracelet. The $794k first prize brought Medic’s total WSOP earnings up to $836,987. Congratulations Nenad Medic!
